I met today two witches on a fated mountain road
The first was young and nubile though her blossom barely showed
The other one was more mature though my eye was pleased to note
No lack of mischief twinkling within hers like a mote
The elder is an autumn day, a mighty oak, bows sweeping down
Atop her head her leaves blaze red with fall's fiery crown
And below where her trunk takes root, her crimson leaves pile and toss
There bushes hide a hollow overflown with blood red moss
The younger then is like some willow, bent before me slight and spare
Beneath her trunk, an open field, soft and supple, smooth and bare
Her name I know speaks of the solstice, of summer's storms that swiftly soak
But her scent is of the equinox when spring's first sprinkles her petals stroke
As they entice me inside I have no doubt I'll be bespelled
Let them make of me a hummingbird to drink their nectar no drop spilled
Fangs dripping like their feline's I'll let this coven take their feast
I do so knowing this kiss will drain me for days to come at the very least
This kiss as well I know will train me for ways to come I can't forsee
For through my mask and 1000 miles the young one still recognized me
But from her elder, her protector, I know I cannot hide my past
Should she see fit I see she'd suck me dry as bone my very last
I'll write tonight their verses as my hand grasps eagerly my pen
Tomorrow night I think I'll write their verse again
In their verse their hands caress me, first all four, then two, then one and none
Grasp me thusly like their broomstick, high and higher, Earth we shun
